Fun, Family and Food!

My mom, Gongie and sister are here this weekend. We have been having a blast! Thursday night I picked them up and we went to Whole Foods. They were like kids in a candy store. We bought lots of fine cheeses and an assortment of finger foods for dinner. I forgot to take a picture of our spread, but we had a yummy dinner. Gongie also bought me these beautiful cherry blossom branches to spruce up my apartment!

Friday we went to La Jolla and spent the day at the beach and walking around town. We ate at my favorite brunch place called The Cottage for lunch, then for dinner we ate at George's at The Cove over looking the ocean, here are some pictures from the beach and our view from dinner.

Yesterday we went to The Americana at the Brand and shopped! It was tons of fun! I took lots of pictures of the dancing fountains. We ate lunch at Katsuya, a sushi restaurant that mom wanted to try because she saw Rachael Ray eat there on one of her shows. Yummy sushi!

For dinner last night mom and I made Cheese stuffed artichokes from my blog on February 24th but we added some of the specialty cheeses that were leftover from Whole Foods. I think the cheese was Cambozola and St. Andre, it really gave an extra punch to the sauce and we ate them up! We also made sun-dried tomato risotto and pan fried scallops. This dish was amazing, unfortunately I didn't have time to take pictures while making it, so I will make it again soon and post the recipe.

Mom and Gongie are leaving tomorrow, so I am taking them site seeing today! We may even go to The Grove and do some more shopping. We are on the scout for a prom dress for Ivy.
