Sunday Mom, Gongie and Ivy wanted to see some of the tourist sites. We started off the day eating lunch at In-N-Out Burger. I never eat burgers, but because it is a "famous" fast food place my sister wanted to go there. After lunch we went to Hollywood Blvd to see "The Walk of Fame", "Kodak Theater", and "Chinese Theater." I had warned them that it isn't as glamorous as they make it appear on TV, but we got out anyway. It was soo crowded, hot and yuck! I took some pictures, though. I think it is something you should do at least once, hopefully not again.
After an hour in the crowd, we decided we had seen enough. Next, I drove them around Beverly Hills to see some of the houses and Rodeo Drive, then we went to The Grove to shop. I have decided The Americana at the Brand is soo much better! It is cleaner and less crowded, also I like the stores better.
Mom and Gongie went back to Odessa Monday morning and Ivy and I went to the Bonnie Hunt show! I had gotten us tickets online and it turned out that Jeffrey's friend David had just started working there and he got us VIP tickets! It was really cool because we didn't have to wait in line and we got a free gift bag. There was not anyone cool on her show that day, Jesse Ventura (former Minnesota mayor and wrestler) and Brian Boitano (former figure skater who now has a Food Network show). We did get a free book from Jesse and a free hot dog and Root Beer! I want to go back soon, because Bonnie Hunt's show is cancelled and ends in May.
Tuesday the weather here was amazing! Ivy and I went to the beach. It was so fun, we wished we could have gone Wednesday. Instead we went shopping at the boutiques around my house until we had to go the the airport. I was sooo sad for Ivy to leave I love having people visit. See all the fun things there are to do here, who is coming to visit next?!?
It has been a while since I posted the recipe about my "everything but the kitchen sink cheese sauce." Here is one of the recipes that requires some of the sauce.
4 Chicken Tenders
1/3 cup Feta Cheese
3/4 cup Basil Pesto (I like Bertulli's premade from the refrigerated aisle)
1/2 cup Cheese Sauce
1/2 box of pasta shells, tubes or bow ties
1/4 cup sundried tomatoes (chopped)
Optional: Olives, Artichoke Hearts
Cook and Drain Pasta
Season chicken tenders with salt, pepper and olive oil. Grill until cooked then dice.
In a large bowl mix all ingredients together.
Pour into a baking dish and cook on 350 for 20 minutes.
This is very yummy!!
