Beef Stroganoff

Whoa it has been hot!! I never got to go the the beach...poo! I really wanted to yesterday, but decided that it would be more fun if J would go with me and I couldn't get him to take the day off. That boy works soooo HARD and I love him for it, but sometimes I would just like a day devoted to me!! haha!

I have so many blog posts on the back log waiting to be posted! This one is from weeks ago! The stroganoff was yummy, but I think I bought the wrong cut of meat because it was pretty tough. Make sure to use a tender cut of beef!

Beef Stroganoff
1 pound of Sirloin Steak, cut into cubes
1/4 cup flour
1/4 cup butter
1 onion
1 clove garlic
1/2 cup beef broth
1 Tbsp fresh basil
1 cup fresh sliced mushrooms
1/2 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 pound egg noodles
salt and pepper
Diced onion and slice mushrooms
Melt 2 Tbsps of butter in a skillet and add onions and mushrooms. Cook until tender. Add garlic 1 minute before done.
Cut meat into thin slices.
Remove onion, mushrooms, and garlic, set aside.
Dredge meat in flour.
Melt the remaining butter in the skillet and add meat.
Cook on both sides until browned. Remove and set aside.
Add broth, Worcestershire, salt and pepepr to taste, and onion/mushroom mix to pan.
Stir, scraping the browned bits all the bottom. Cook for about 5 minutes, until sauce thickens. Add meat and heat through.
Just before serving add sour cream and basil.

Cook egg noodles.
Serve over egg noodles.
