Herbin' Spoonful Caramel

The great thing about facebook is you can keep up with people you grew up with, even if they live on the other side of the country! A few weeks ago I clicked on an article about my friend Mackenzie who I grew up with in Odessa. It is so cool that we have both left our small town roots for the big city, she is in New York, while I am in LA. The article was about her new business, making and selling caramel. She focuses on interesting flavors and uses organic ingredients. I immediately knew I wanted to try her caramel and write a blog about it! She sent me 2 flavors, Habanero and Chai. Let me tell you, they are awesome! Here are some recipes that I made with the two flavors.

I made homemade popcorn on my stove. See instructions for doing this by clicking here. Then sprinkled it with a little kosher salt. Heat about 2 Tbsp of Chai Caramel in the microwave for about 15 seconds and then drizzle over the popcorn. Delicious!! I need some more of this now....

I took Em's Brie recipe and used the habanero caramel instead of brown sugar to make this....sooo GOOD!

wheel or wedge of brie
Crescent Rolls (1 pack for wedge of brie, 2 for a wheel)
2-3 Tbsp habanero caramel
Carefully slice skin off of brie.
Unroll crescent rolls and press them together.
Top brie with caramel.
Wrap crescent rolls around the brie and seal tight...I did a bad job with the sealing.

Cook on 375 for 12 minutes. See my sealing was not so good...oh well, still yummy!
Serve with crackers!
The 3Bs ate this up! We couldn't get over how good it was! I will be making it again for our guests this weekend!
