Our family left this morning! It is always a let down when guests leave and you have to get back to reality... We love having guests in town because we can take a vacation too! J even took the weekend off, it was incredible!! Let me tell you what we did...Friday: Umami Burger for dinner and a walking tour of our neighborhood. Saturday: Hiking in Hollywood Hills, got dressed and watched shark week before cooking a fabulous dinner, then off to a movie at the Arclight, followed by drinks at the Good Luck Bar. Sunday: Morning walk in Griffith Park neighborhoods, Lunch at Elements in Pasadena, Exploring Pasadena neighborhoods by car (we drove by the Father of the Bride house), Shopping in Old Town Pasadena for James' birthday, more shopping at the Americana, home to make another fabulous meal (sadly we forgot the camera this day). Monday: Morning walk in Griffith Park neighborhoods, smoothie at The Alcove, off to Laguna Beach, shopping in Laguna for Katy's new cute swimsuit, Picnic at the beach, swimming in the waves, cleaning off to dinner, an amazing birthday dinner at The Beach House overlooking the ocean, back home. We are exhausted after all that! Here are fun photos:

Chicken and Jalapeno Kebabs
4-6 Chicken Tenders
4 Tbsp honey
2 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
2 tsp ground coriander
3/4 tsp cumin
salt and pepper
Stir together honey, vinegar, coriander and cumin.
Cube chicken tenders and place in marinade. Allow to marinade for at least 1 hour.
Carefully slice and seed jalapenos. Alternate chicken and jalapenos onto skewers. Season with salt and pepper. If using wooden skewers make sure you soak them in water for 30 mins before using.
Cook on a grill or a grill pan for 10 minutes on each side. Brush skewers with honey marinade occasionally while cooking.
