Baking Day Part 2: This recipe came from Meg's mom, Nancy, She makes whole bunt cakes for her neighbors every year. That is a lot of cake! Meg is the comedian of our group, you can tell she was having lots of fun at baking day!!! This recipe is moist, light and delicious. Even if you do not like eggnog you will enjoy it, because it doesn't even have eggnog in it!
1 box yellow cake mix
1 small package vanilla pudding
1 tsp nutmeg
3/4 cup vegetable oil
3/4 cup cream of sherry
powdered sugar for sprinkling on top
Pouring the vanilla pudding mix and cake mix in a bowl. Emily assisting with her Vanna White hands.
Drop in the Eggs!
Along with the oil, nutmeg and..
the cream of sherry!
Take a little sip along the way...no really don't this stuff smells amazing but tastes bad alone!
Use a hand mixer to blend ingredients together.
If you are not scared of salmonella or e coli poisoning, lick the whisks!!!
It looks pretty!
Fill the mini bunts and bake on 350 for 17 minutes. Our first batch was a tester...
They were a little overfilled....
AND we couldn't get them to come out of the pan....
Sooo we got to eat the ugly ones!!
We made sure to butter and flour the pan for the next batch. And we realized you only need to fill the mini bunts about halfway.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
I love the mini bunts they look soo cute! If you are using a large bunt pan, it might actually make 2?? But it will take longer to cook, the recipe said 40 minutes.
We took a coffee and cake break...yum!! This cake is divine!!
Meg and I! My hair looks a little scary in this photo... back lit and all!
I bought mini dollies to place the cakes on and we put them in treat bags tied with a bow!
I will need to find an excuse to make these again soon!!
