Sparkling Cranberry Bites and a Toasted Garlic and Pomegranate Dipping Sauce

Jeffrey's cousin Tim is a photographer. I told him to take photos of us making dinner. I could get used to having my own photographer, his pictures are so much better than mine and I can focus on the fun part, cooking!

I was making a dipping sauce for crusty bread with toasted garlic, pomegranate vinegar and olive oil, it was incredible!
After peeling about 10 cloves of garlic my fingers were stinky for days!!

I minced the garlic and then toasted it on the stove in some olive oil until it was light brown. Then mix with 2 Tbsp olive oil, 2 Tbsp vinegar and a couple of cranks of fresh ground pepper, yum!
Now I am pounding the chicken for our Chicken Milanese.
hmmm, who knows why I was holding the knife that way...look! there is Mel

Katy and I in our boots!

After all that cooking, we needed a drink!

I found this recipe on Pinterest and I also had them at a holiday party I attended before Christmas. They are easy, yummy and pretty!  A perfect appetizer for a holiday party, everyone LOVED them!

Sparkling Cranberry Bites
I didn't get a picture of the ingredients together
1 cup Karo Syrup
1 bag fresh cranberries
1 cup sugar
1 box of crackers (I wish I had taked a picture of the box, they had an indention that was made especially for spreading toppings on them)
1 log of brie

Measure out 1 cup of karo and put it in the microwave for 30 seconds, you want it to be warm, but not hot.
Wash cranberries. Stir karo into cranberries and allow them to sit in the fridge for at least 1 hour. The original recipe said 1 day, but we didn't have time.
Logan wanted to cook too!
Oh look there is a pic of the cracker box, they are called Toppers!
The log of brie is sooo mush easier than spreading it. Slice thin and place a piece of brie on each cracker.

Remove cranberries from fridge and stir so that karo is covering them.

Working with a few at a time, toss the cranberries in the sugar.

Place 3 cranberries on each cracker.
Serve immediately!

In other news, I finally got around to taking our Christmas decorations down yesterday. This morning Jeffrey said, it looks sad in here! Ahhh, at least I know now that he really liked our decorations.
