Valentine's Popcorn and Valentine's Strawberries

To My Funny Valentine: I love....

Your silly faces
 Your adorable dance moves
The way you always make a serious moment more fun!
I love you honey, thank you for making me laugh every day!

Here is one photo of our dessert table. Many of the girls wanted to take photos because they said it looked like a magazine! I think Emily's beautiful antique hutch and crystal also had something to do with it.
It is so easy to jazz up ordinary chocolate covered strawberries with....
Candy Melts!
Make spiffy, Valentine's popcorn with....
Candy Melts!

Seriously, these two desserts were sooo easy and tasted delicious! Here is what you need to make the popcorn. PS I didn't take many step by step photos so I will explain.
Valentine's Popcorn
Oil (enough to cover the bottom of your sauce pan, maybe about 2 Tbsp)
3-4 Tbsp of popcorn (should also just cover the bottom of your saucepan)
1 Tbsp butter
1-2 tsp kosher salt
8 pellets of pink candy melts
8 pellets of red candy melts
3 single packages of red and pink M&Ms
Melt the candy in 2 separate cups. Microwave for 30 seconds, then remove and stir. Repeat until smooth.
I have showed you how to make popcorn on the stove in this post but I will explain since I didn't take more photos. Pour oil in the bottom of a sauce pan, enough to just cover. Add 2-3 popcorn kernels to oil and turn on heat to medium high. Microwave 1 Tbsp of butter. Once kernels pops the oil is ready! Turn heat down to medium and add butter and remaining kernels (only enough to cover the bottom). Cover the pot with a lid and wait for kernels to slow down the popping then remove from heat.
I made a lot, so I poured the popcorn into 2 separate bowls. You want the bowl to be big enough so that the popcorn only fills it half way. Sprinkle in salt. Then drizzle pink and red melted candy into popcorn while stirring. Add M&Ms, then spread popcorn out on wax paper to allow it to cool.

For Valentines Strawberries. If you are making these with the popcorn, use the same 2 cups of melted candy. You also want to find some pretty Valentine's sprinkles. I found them at the 99cent store but you can find them at the Michael's.
I used the Chocolate pellets for dipping the strawberries. With the strawberries that you want to cover in sprinkles, make sure to sprinkle them before they dry.
Use a fork to dip in the pink candy, then swing it from side to side quickly over the strawberries. Repeat with the red and you will have pretty Valentine's Strawberries!
Keep the strawberries in the fridge until you are ready to serve.
The popcorn was my favorite!!! I think I will make some more today!!
Yum!

Here is the Bible verse that I loved from this week's study. It is actually one that has brought great comfort to me over the years. I hope it brings some comfort to you today!
1 Corinthians 10:13 "No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it."
