Standing in line to see Modern Family at Paley Fest
This event was awesome. We got to watch an upcoming episode of Modern Family and then the whole cast came out and did question and answer for 2 hours! The Saban Theatre was really cool too!
We had seats really far back, but you can make out Ed O'Neil, Sofia Vergara, Ty Burrell, and Julie Bowen.

They were even so kind to stick around and give autographs for a while, we didn't get them, we just watched.
There is Jesse Tyler Ferguson.
Here is the website for Paleyfest. It is a once a year television festival and they have like 12 different shows that do it. I can't wait for next year.
We finally made it to Scoops! My favorite ice cream shop ever!
I had Toffee Banana Caramel ice cream and Red Velvet ice cream. Oh soooo good!
We had fun shopping in the Silverlake and Los Feliz boutiques. There are a lot of neat vintage stores.
We we to Lette in Pasadena for Macarons.
These are a delicacy. My favorite was the pistachio and the Salted Caramel.

I love this recipe. My mom would make these for catering jobs all the time when I was growing up. If you want to make it really easy on yourself, you can buy a bottle of your favorite Italian dressing to use as the marinate. These appetizers are beautiful and will be a big hit at your next party.
Marinated Tortellini Skewers
2 Tbsp lemon Juice
1/4 cup white wine vinegar
1/2 cup olive oil
2 tsp minced garlic
1/8 tsp black pepper
1/8 tsp red pepper flakes
1/4 tsp of the following: salt, dried parsley, onion flakes, dried oregano, dried basil (I don't really measure these, I toss in a few shakes of each.)
1 package of Buitoni tortellini. I like to get the pack that is spinach and regular past so that it is prettier.
Cheese: I used 3 kinds because that is what was in my refrigerator. Swiss, Monterey and White Cheddar.
1 pack of skewers
Mix together the lemon juice, vinegar, oil and seasonings.
Cook pasta according to package instructions.
Drain and rinse with cold water until the pasta is cool to touch.
Slice cheese into cubes. Or you can buy pre-cubed cheese. You need about 1 or 1 1/2 cups of cubed cheese.
Place tortellini and cheese in a gallon bag, then drizzle in marinate.
Shake bag so that marinate is tossed throughout the pasta and cheese. Refrigerate overnight.
Before serving, skewer alternating a tortellini, cheese and cherry tomato. Serve immediately.
You can also serve this as a pasta salad. I have been eating on it that way for lunch, it is a fresh and light lunch.
