Hosting my first Thanksgiving was a success! Mommasita and Pinkie came in town on Tuesday. We had a blast shopping on Tuesday and Wednesday while Jeffrey was working.
Here we are at the Americana, it was snowing! Beautiful!
We went to the Grove on Wednesday. Here we are at a cafe in the Farmer's Market.
We were driving Pinkie to drink...haha!
Stopped at Dylan's Candy Bar for some sweet treats.
Thanksgiving day went great. Here is my spread of pre-turkey snacks. Firecrackers, Radish dip and my favorite cheeses from Trader Joe's (Toscano soaked in Syra wine and a Cambozola with Fig spread).
Basting the bird! I used Pioneer Woman's recipe for Turkey Brine.
Yummy Cranberry Sauce, recipe to come...
Here is our spread:
Cranberry Orange Marmalade
Restaurant Style Mashed Potatoes
She's a beaut!
Mommasita is a great sous chef! It was her first time to make a turkey too! We learned together.
Pinkie carved the bird.
Caught him in the act of tasting the sweet potatoes.
Sweet picture of Mommasita and her boy.
Happy Something to Eat!
I've got a good husband, he suited up to clean the dishes. There were A LOT!
We went to see Skyfall on Thanksgiving night. Even though I swore we wouldn't go shopping on Friday, we ended up doing just that. Pinkie wanted to buy us a rug for Christmas. We found a beautiful rug at Pottery Barn. Thank you soooo much for our early Christmas present we love it! Friday evening we went to see Silver Lining's Playbook at the Vista Vintage theater.
J had to work on Saturday so we took him lunch on set. It was really great for his parents to see him in action on set.
I am so happy we were able to have them in for the holiday! Good thing we will get to see them in only 3 weeks because I already miss them. We are ready for Christmas!!
