I am finally home! I had an incredible week in Texas. Here are some more photos from my week at the Miss Texas Pageant.
I had Tuesday afternoon off, so I was able to meet up with my dear friend Amanda for lunch. We have been friends since kindergarten and I had not seen her since my wedding! It was awesome to catch up with her.
Night 1 of Preliminaries. Maddie introduces herself on stage.

She really lite up the stage everytime she was up there!
Signing autographs for one of her many little princesses.
With her pageant director, Debbie. I loved Debbie!
A Blurry, but cute family portrait!
With her Mimi and Da-Doo
With Miss Texas 2012, DeNae Couch. She was super sweet!
With Maddie's aunt and my sweet friend, Morgan. She was Miss Texas 2005.
Visitation after night 2 of preliminaries.
Day 3 we had to be in the makeup room at 5:30 am! It certainly didn't take me 2 hours to make Maddie beautiful so I made her nap on the floor for 45 minutes before we got started.
Her talent competition was on night 3. She rocked it!
My mom and Ivy came in town Thursday so they could she her talent. Here is mom with her lifelong best friend and Maddie's grandma, Kelli!
My seester and I with Maddie.
Getting dressed for finals! I put 20 rollers in her hair!
Beauty with a silly face.
Ready to go!
Seester and I on our way into the Teen finals!
Maddie made it to the top ten, which meant she was able to compete with her talent! We were so happy for her! She came in 8th place and was the youngest (13) in the top 15. The winner was great, but of course we all thought she should have won!
With Morgan after the finals.
My bestie, Katie Wharry, came over to go to the pageant with us! We had a blast!!
We all had lunch the next day, except for Maddie who was being held captive by the Miss Texas organization for another day. I love seeing all these wonderful people. They are not blood relatives, but close enough. I loved spending time with each of you!!
Love my Katie! XOXO GG
J is really happy to have me home to cook for him. Here is a great dish for a pot luck event!
Nacho Cheese Pasta
1/2 pound of pasta, I used the spirals
1 cup crumbed tortilla chips
2 green onions
2 Tbsp diced red onion
2 Tbsp cilantro
1 Tbsp softened butter
1/2 of a 32 oz box of velveeta cheese
1/2 pound 80/20 ground beef
1/2 can rotel (or you can use the whole can depending on how chunky you like your queso)
Cook pasta according to package instructions. Preheat oven to 350.
Cook ground beef and drain.
Add rotel to the pan.
Cube velveeta and add it to the pan. Stir while it slowly melts.
Drain pasta, stir in queso.
Butter a baking dish with softened butter.
Add pasta to the baking dish.
Top with crushed tortilla chips. Bake for 20 minutes.
Chop cilantro, red onion and green onion.
Remove pasta from oven and top with onions and cilantro.
